24 hours of service? Heck yea! On probably one of the hottest days of the summer, us key clubbers volunteered at the Relay for Life cancer walk. The full event began from 10 am on 6/13 and ended at 10 am on 6/14. Although not many stayed for the full 24 hours, the time spent at the event was jam-packed and fun! Despite the fact that not much money was raised in our little booth, we managed to have a great time while doing service. At 10am, the first day, yummy pancake breakfast with fruit made by key clubbers and kiwanis were passed out. The rest of the day included trying to stay hydrated, staying under the shade as much as possible, interacting with other stations/people, walking in the cancer walk, eating snacks and fruit, helping with the luminarias, tackling each other in bubble soccer, and even participating as the angels of light in the light ceremony and walk to honor those who've died from the deadly disease. Overall, the event was heartwarming and entertaining.
