About the Club:
Welcome to key club! Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. Members will learn leadership skills, help the community with our service, and make friends and lifetime memories along the way.
There's more to key club than in just Deer Valley High School. The family tree is intense. Let us break it down for you:
The baby = key club. Key clubs are established in high schools in which we help out the community by participating in volunteer work. The many service projects we do include: walks, fundraisers, school events, and many other works.
The mother = division. Divisions are territories that are geographically divided up by the district which are made up of various clubs. DV's club is a part of Division 26 North which includes the clubs of: us (duh), Conocord, College Park, Pittsburg, Antioch, Liberty, Mount Diablo, Northgate, Dozier Libbey, and Alhambra. Together, we are the red devils (our mascot). The mother of us babies is Lieutenant Governor, Gagan Lally.
The father = district. The district is normally defined by state or nation. DV's club is a part of the Cal-Nev-Ha district which includes California, Nevada, and Hawaii. These are the people who you will see at District Convention.
The granddaddy of them all = international. Key Club International encompasses all clubs within the group's 33 organized districts. This is basically anyone and everyone. You can see anyone and everyone at International Convention.
Thought that was over? Nope! There's more. These are other organizations that are a part of our Kiwanis Family.
Our grandkids = K-Kids. The elementary school version of key club.
Our kids = Builders Club. The middle school version of key club.
Us = Key club. Key Club is you guys.
Our siblings = Circle K International. The college version of key club.
Our cousins = Aktion Club. Key club for adults with disabilities.
Our aunts & uncles = Kiwanis International. Kiwanis is an international volunteer organization. Key club works very close with Kiwanis since we are sponsored by them. DV's club has two Kiwanis advisors: Angel and Argentina de Luevento.
That was the basic breakdown of the key club system. We are more complex than the average high school club. Thanks for being a wolverine and red devil!

About the Officers:
Key clubs are run by officers including a president, one or more vice presidents, a secretary, a treasurer, and an editor. Officers are students and key club members who have been elected by the club from the previous term. These are Deer Valley's key club officers:
My name is Van Nguyen. I'm a senior and president for the 2015-2016 term. I have been in key club all four years and as my last year at Deer Valley, I plan to dedicate all my effort to show key club in a new light and bring it to not only a new, but also higher, expectation. I want to bring service and spirit. I want to form a family. I want to find more devils to accompany my journey. Besides Key Club, I try to hang out with my friends often and if you ever want to find us, look for the loudest crew and you will definitely see us. Weird is encouraged. We're a group that steps out of the box. As serious as I can be, sometimes I'm a bit too random, but that's what makes things fun. My key club moment would be attending DCON 2015. Meeting all the nice and outgoing people, along with the workshops opened my eyes and made me want to work for key club with pure intentions. Attending DCON, I was able to perform a dance with my friends which received positive reactions that made my first experience the absolute best. I couldn't have asked for better.
Hello! My name's Daphne Francisco and I am currently the VP of Deer Valley's key club. I am currently a senior and I've been with key club since my sophomore year. The reason why I stuck with key club is because of the friendly community and environment it puts me in while doing service or volunteering. But my key club moment has to be the first time I witnessed spirit wars and so much spirit wear at my first Fall Rally. That moment showed my that key club is different and really fun! Outside of key club, I dance, play the piano, sing, and work with yearbook.
Hey guys! I'm Shaina Flores. I have been a key club member since my freshmen year and I'm now co-VP of the club and also social media coordinator of the division. Although my shortness may deceive some of you, I am a senior. I truly want to make this year the best year of key club since sadly, this is my last year. I'm kinda funny. I drink a lot of boba. I like to dance. I have many dogs. My key club moment has to be performing at DCON 2015 where I danced with several of my friends in front of thousands of people/
Hello! I'm Michelle Le and I am your 2-year secretary for the 2015-2016 term. Key club has accompanied me throughout my high school journey and as a senior, I want to end my key club and high school life with a bang! I want everyone to see why I've invested so much time in this club and to love it as much as I do. Expect my loudness, ratchetness, and lame jokes at meetings and events. I promise every now and then, I say something funny. If you wanna score some big points with me, say positive things about Wingstop, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Beyonce. My key club moment was attending DCON 2014, specifically on the Saturday night when Shaina, Daphne, and me were awake at midnight, talking about how much we love key club and how much we want to do so much more, have more events, and see our club name on the screen at DCON.
Well, my name is Suzette Gomez and I am the treasurer for this term as I was reelected last year, making me a 2-year treasurer for this club. I'm a junior in the Law Academy at Deer Valley, so I still have 2 more years of key club ahead of me. My key club moment was when i first started going to the meetings and saw how close and welcoming everyone was. I knew I wanted to be a part of that. My goal this year is to make everyone who comes to the meetings and joins the club feel welcome and a part of the key club family. I would also like to raise money for our club and our favorite charities.
My name is Darwin Joel Saquilayan and I like mint Ice Cream. There's no picture of me right now, because no good one exists at this moment. I am this year's Editor for you guys; this is my first time, so I'll do my best to take good pictures of you all and make this stuff look nice and pretty. I am a Junior this year and I actually do like what I do, taking pictures, writing names and stuff like that. I love writing and watching movies, so if you need an opinion on a short story, or a nice conversation on movies, you'll make a quick friend with me. I also have a hand in a lot of things this year, so don't be too surprised of you see me running all over. My goals for this year is to pass my classes, take good pictures, and perfect that cookie recipe I've been making. Please don't feel afraid to strike up a good conversation, I don;t bite too hard. Shanti Shanti Shanti, have a nice year.
